BUFFETOLOGY

Welcome to 2012's Inaugural BUFFETOLOGY. Unlike in years past, we would post an entire bracket, but truthfully, while this may seem like a short cut, I would rather the readers get an idea of where teams specifically rank, whereas when the Buffet brackets, we have to swap out teams/seeding in order to comply with bracketing rules. As we get a bit closer, and things start taking more concrete shape, we will start putting teams in the bracket. What you'll see here is the S-curve, broken out by seeding, ranking the Teams 1-82. Yes, we have not suffered a knock on the skull, we are aware only 68 teams make the tourney. Those 68 teams are listed with the seed next to their group of 4 (or 6, if a seed has Play-in game teams), and then the next 14 teams who are on the verge of getting in are listed next, ranked in order that they fall in line to get in.

One more thing, those teams who place is precarious, whether in or out, have been designated as "In the back of the Waiting Line"...

Great summary. Maybe the better question is which teams are poised for a big move over the next couple weeks. I see BYU, VCU, and Colorado State (who play SDSU, UNM, and UNLV in their next three games) as teams that could make a big step forward. West Virginia, UConn, Purdue are potential droppers.

Arizona is an interesting case - they could finish 13-5 in the Pac-12 with only three of those wins over Top 100 RPI teams.
