All hell breaking lose in Georgia.
Last night, during what was a sweet OT game between Mississippi St and Alabama, the Devil went down to Georgia, interrupting the game, breaking large dome stadiums, and sending the masses of Kentucky fans into a Tubby Smith-induced panic. (If Buffet subscribers ever need a good irrational laugh, checkout www.catspause.com)
So now, Georgia and Kentucky will play at 9 am BST, followed by Arkansas/Tennessee and then the winner of the Bulldogs and Cats will play the Ark/Tenn winner in a Saturday hoops double-header. Yes, a Day/Night basketball doubleheader. Pretty sweet. Well, until Rumell Bradley turns an ankle after playing 78 minutes of basketball today and Lexington arms itself Confederacy-style to protest the SEC's decision.
Other happenings today --
Virginia Tech/North Carolina -- ACC semifinals, currently airing - Va Tech, as mentioned previously by the Buffet, is a deceptive 9-7 regular season ACC team. They played the top only once, they've done something most Waiting Liners have not, won this week. Buffet feels they still need to win, but sees a UNC thrashing upcoming.
Texas/Oklahona -- B12 semis -- No Waiting Line implications here, but Gary Johnson, UT's super freshman, and pretty much only competent player on their bench (nominee Wangmene plays competent 1 out of every 3 games) is out with a lower leg injury (uh, ankle?) ... this is not a deep team, this is a conference tournament, even if Texas handles Oklahoma, this does not bode well for KU/Texas rematch tomorrow.
Saint Joseph's/Temple -- A10 Championship, 6:00 pm BST -- Very simply. Temple wins, they are obviously in. They don't, and they aren't.
BYU/UNLV - Mtn West championship, 7:00 pm BST - Buffet believes UNLV is safe, but why not win to be sure. At least don't get blownout. A close win over TCU and then a less than comfy 6 point win over Utah, UNLV has been less than impressive in a home standing tournament.
The Buffet sincerely hopes everyone has their popcorn and comfy watching spots ready for the barnburner that will be Illinois/Minnesota. A clinic in offensive fundamentals upcoming.
Live blogging from MAC, Mtn West, & MEAC finals later this afternoon...

Sweet call by the zebras late in the game when Psycho Tea mauled a Tech player and then threw the ball out of bounds. Naturally, they awarded the ball to Pansy Bleu.
He might be my least favorite player of all time.
Which doesn't change the fact that "Psycho Tea" might be the best negative nickname anybody on the Hotline has ever come up with.
Has there ever been freer money than the under of Illinois/Minnesota? (119)
Yes: the under for the second half of Illinois/Minnesota. (64)
Big Blew.
Honestly, you've never dealt with rednecks til you've lived in River City, USA.
Dear Douchebags: the best team in the area is Xavier, and they aren't very good.
